We are proud to announce that TIME named ICON co-founder and CEO Jason Ballard to the inaugural ‘TIME Trailblazers: Designing and Making the Future’ list recognizing an exclusive group of architects, engineers, founders, technologists, and builders whose work is expanding what is possible across housing, infrastructure, climate adaptation, mobility, and public health.

The recognition reflects what Jason has dedicated his career to: the belief that the most important problems facing humanity are also the most solvable, if you are willing to build something new.

From co-founding ICON to leading the development of robotic construction systems that have built structures across five states, two countries, and for the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA, Jason and team at ICON’s work sits at the intersection of advanced technology and fundamental human need. The Titan construction system, which ICON commercially launched in 2026, represents the most advanced robotic construction platform in the world and a proof of concept for what it looks like when bold ideas are engineered all the way to scale.

Later this month, Jason will join fellow honorees for the keynote panel Designing & Making the Future: What It Takes to Build a Better World — a conversation about how the industries that design and make our world turn ambitious ideas into everyday realities, and what it takes to move from first concept to meaningful, lasting impact.

We are deeply proud of this recognition and grateful to TIME for shining a light on the builders, engineers, and makers who are doing the hard, necessary work of designing a better future.
