As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team, you will design, evaluate, and deliver world-class high-performance wall systems, enclosures, and buildings using ICON’s technology set. As an ICONIC, you will be a leader and direct contributor to the development of entirely novel approaches to high-performance buildings and you will have the opportunity to work with your team to advance humankind’s ability to provide dignified, affordable, resilient, and sustainable shelter to the world.
Contribute to the development of ICON’s concrete 3D-printed (C3DP) wall system to maximize human comfort, safety, experience, and sustainability
Develop construction drawings and building envelope details such as wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, and roofing details
Development of detailed BIM Models and assemblies using various 2D and 3D CAD and graphics packages
Document wall assembly details and design schemes;
Produce details and drawings that comply with design criteria, contract documents and applicable building code
Perform technical reviews of shop drawings and construction administration submittals prepared by 3rd party contractors for compliance with design standards and project requirements
Participate in the evaluation of ICON’s building systems and building designs against various regulatory and testing regimes
Coordinate with architects, builders, and end users to discuss design concepts pertaining to the building envelope and develop wall system details specific to ICON’s construction processes
Develop remedial work recommendations and plans for existing building projects
Local and overnight travel, as required for assigned projects and tasks
5 or more years of relevant work experience.
Professional Degree in Architecture (Masters of Architecture or accredited 5 year Bachelor of Architecture
Knowledge of AutoCad, Revit, NavisWorks, Rhino and Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Experience coordinating and reviewing all disciplines involved in the preparation of construction documents (architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc)
Experience in Construction Administration including RFI's, submittals and other general construction related correspondence
Technical detailing expertise and the ability to develop design options in collaboration with the technology and operations teams
Strong organizational skills, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and budget time
Ability to take initiative in response to direction from managers and feedback from peers
A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to understand building envelope systems including wall cladding systems, curtain wall, window and door systems, waterproofing, and roofing details, including their installation means and methods
Working knowledge of test methods and standards associated with the testing of building envelope systems (primarily, but not limited to – AAMA/ASTM testing standards)
Technically competent and able to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors and co-workers both in writing and orally
Tekla/ Dynamo experience is a plus
5+ years of professional experience in complex, multi-disciplinary design and analysis projects
Architectural Licensing preferred
Proactive problem-solving skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication with an emphasis on interpersonal and organizational skills
Proficiency in energy and daylight modeling software is highly desirable (e.g. DIVA, Radiance, IES)
LEED accredited Professional.
