Senior Software Manager, BuildOS

ICON is looking for an open-minded, structured thinker who loves to solve complex problems and appreciates the value of prototyping and iterating applications over time. As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering for the BuildOS group at ICON, you will be responsible for managing a development team that delivers a portfolio of visualization and planning tools in BuildOS. This role reports to the Director of BuildOS Software Applications and is based in our Austin, TX lab.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technically lead a team of BuildOS developers and provide mentoring.
  • Participate in design, development, code reviews and delivery of the BuildOS applications.
  • Participate in guiding the development process as the BuildOS team and the application portfolios grow.
  • Work with various stakeholders to help set development priorities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of experience 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing a team of developers building a portfolio of applications.
  • Experience with Node.js and Typescript.
  • Experience with cloud deployments.
  • Experience with mobile applications.
  • Experience hiring and managing a small team.
  • Work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to discuss solutions in a collaborative environment that is rapidly changing.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both in-person and written.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • AWS Cloud Development Kit Experience.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • AWS Lambda and Serverless Experience.
  • React experience.
  • Flutter experience.
  • Can be remote but must be willing and able to travel to Austin.
