UI Designer

ICON is  seeking a multi-faceted, motivated UI designer to join our fast growing UX Design team. We’re crafting a new generation of end-to-end digital solutions for ICON partners, customers, prospects, and the general public. As a UI Designer, you’ll play a critical role across many challenging products and projects. ICON is an early-stage company, with a highly collaborative environment. This role reports to the Sr. Designer and is based in our Austin, TX lab. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design rich user-interface solutions across a range of platforms and devices.
  • Ensure interactive and visual designs achieve the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction
  • Work with Product and Engineering to grow strategic concepts through user research, design exploration, and ideation.
  • Develop and maintain our interactive prototypes and design systems for the BuildOS suite of products.
  • Contribute to complex projects with the ability to work well with ambiguity or when requirements are in ongoing development. .
  • Rapidly iterate,  prototype and test new design ideas. Apply the learnings to future iterations.
  • Analyze tasks, patterns, navigation and user flows that align with best practices for web and mobile.
  • Participate and conceptualize at a high level about product strategy and vision - not just visual ideas but what we should build and why. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A compelling online portfolio demonstrating full design process execution, an understanding of UI design patterns and systems, and excellent design skills. 
  • 8+ years professional product design experience. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Fine Art, HCI, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid foundation in best practices and principles of UI.
  • Experience designing interactive products for desktop and mobile.
  • Experience creating, expanding and maintaining design systems for a suite of products.
  • Proficient using design and prototyping tools: Figma, Invision, Illustrator.
  • Ability to iterate through various stages of ideation: Discovery, Low Fidelity Designs (Wireframes), High Fidelity Deliverables.
  • Ability to speak expressively about design and development with any audience.
