Manager, Internal (HR) Programs

The Mission of ICON’s Manager, Internal Programs is to foster an elite, adaptable and diverse culture through the operationalization of internal programming and People initiatives. As a leader on ICON’s people team, you will be responsible for addressing internal areas of opportunity and creating measurable, intentional programming for the ICON team. Key programming areas include employee engagement, learning & development and diversity, equity & inclusion. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX lab and will report to the Director of HR on ICON’s People team.


  • Translate business goals into confidence-building and energizing programs for employees.
  • Identify and manage program-improvement initiatives, both day-to-day and project-specific, within the HR space, making recommendations regarding new approaches as needed.
  • Collaborate with the HR Generalist group to develop and implement the necessary programs for successful succession planning and leadership development. 
  • Measure and ensure the consistency of employee experience across all employee-facing platforms, tools and functionalities.
  • Build strong partnerships with the Communications team to ensure voice and message consistency across internal and external channels.
  • Reimagine, implement and report on onboarding structure and experience in anticipation of high growth. 
  • Support on all People team change management initiatives, serving as project manager. 
  • Drive proactive process-improvement initiatives, both day-to-day and project-specific, making recommendations regarding new approaches, policies or procedures.
  • Act as the liaison for communication initiatives internally and proactively ensure the team is informed on the implementation of HR strategies, programs, practices and issues.


  • 5+ years of experience in employee facing roles with a focus on leading talent and people initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating employee training both in person and virtually. 
  • Experience leading RFP processes for groups of cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency developing and implementing HR programs including planning, design and implementation.  
  • Strong internal consultation and relationship building skills. 
  • Proven track record of contributing to business outcomes through focused internal programs. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, leadership capabilities, analytical skills, project management and presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge of agile development methodologies preferred.
