IT Support Specialist

The ICON IT Support Specialist’s primary responsibility is to offer assistance to end users. This may include hardware support, such as desktop computers, printers, scanners, or IoT devices, or it may include providing software support. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for responding to, logging work performed on, and tracking user support issues in ICON’s IT ticketing system. This role reports to the Senior Systems Administrator and is based at our Austin, TX lab. 


  • Provision computers for new and current employees.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues on Mac, PC, ChromeOS, and Linux machines.
  • Provide technical support for computers and mobile devices.
  • Document activities in ticketing system.
  • Build knowledge base articles for common issues.
  • Assist in installation and configuration of network equipment.
  • Assist with larger IT projects as needed.


  • Certification or degree in an IT related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a help desk environment.
  • Experience supporting SaaS tools. (Office365, GSuite, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.
  • Experience supporting one of the following operating systems: Windows 10, MacOS, Linux (any distribution).
  • Comfort working in a command line interface.


  • Certified in Windows 10 MCSA or equivalent, Cisco CCNA or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience network experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, TCP/IP troubleshooting)
  • Experience supporting Android/iOS mobile devices
  • Experience working in the construction industry
  • Experience working with MDM solutions
  • Programming/scripting experience
