FP&A Manager

ICON is looking for an FP&A team member to support the CFO and other senior management with key financial and operational analysis in a fast-paced environment.  This position offers significant opportunity for growth, and will be the first person in a dedicated FP&A role and will be critical in helping the CFO develop and mature the FP&A function. ICON’s finance team partners with leaders across the firm to provide critical data to strategic decisions about the company’s business, our technology roadmap, our capital opportunities, and much more. Candidate must be able to think analytically and independently, and produce beautiful reporting quickly.  


  • Build, improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies.  
    • Build and maintain a drivers-based corporate financial model that details the entire company’s operations and projects future performance, and ties historicals to projections.
    • Produce a variety of strategic analyses, charts, and metrics quickly and accurately.
    • Reconcile discrepancies and identify gaps between strategic forecasts, annual plans, and rolling forecasts
    • Interact with department managers and Business Intelligence teams to ensure strategic and analytical alignment, as well as data consistency and efficiency
  • Support the CFO and CEO in modeling forward-looking business scenarios and evaluating new projects and operational opportunities.
  • Support CFO and accounting team in preparation of monthly executive reporting packages, including analyzing and formatting information
  • Support CFO in building external board and investor materials
  • Manage other financial databases 
  • Support CFO in modeling various financing structures (debt and equity) 
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for CFO as required


  • 4-5 years investment banking or transaction services at a consulting firm
  • 3-4 years internal FP&A at a high growth institutional investor-backed company
  • Ability to construct three-statement financial models that are clear and follow best practices; ability to tailor other analyses’ complexity by use case
  • Attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance and operational drivers such that this person can take the initiative to conduct additional analysis and offer insights unprompted
  • Ability to work within ERP systems and use budgeting software tools
  • Passion for story-telling through data
  • Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; knowledge of other business intelligence tools is highly desired
  • Successful candidates for this team have a bias towards action, exceptional partnership and communication skills, and know-how to balance getting the details right while still moving fast.
